we've been having trouble with our modem so they sent us another one. well right in the middle of typing something...poof it went out, but this time it didnt come back on. so we switched to the new modem. its just like the other one.now we have power, but no internet. so i call qwest and get some guy, sounded arabic, and i could barely understand him. he had us unplugging everything .even insisted we unplug the phone. and just what i tried to tell him would happen...did. we got disconnected. i call back and get yet another guy that sounded alot like the first guy. and i couldnt understand him much better.he had me doing the same thing as the first guy, so sure enough i get disconnected again. as what i told him would happen if i unplugged the friggen cord. der..the third time i made quinn call. he gets some lady with a very heavy german accent. he told her that all the lights were on, on the modem, except the internet and the wireless. the next thing out of her mouth was. do you have power to the modem? well duh ! he just told her what lights were on.(i think her lights were on too and nobody was home ! ) so he demanded to speak with a manager, an ENGLISH speaking one who guided him through it all in less than ten minutes ! gggggrrrr..... sorry to rant, but geez, what alot of crap !
I completely understand. Nothing makes things worse than when you're trying to get something fixed and the people supposed to be helping you don't understand what you're saying or you don't understand them.
We had ordered some computer parts off pcdirectsource (thinking it was pcdirect) and because our shipping and billing addresses were different they wanted a reason...Military....an asian sounding guy left me a message on my phone saying he didn't understand military as the reason. Nathan sent them an email explaining and they wanted a copy of our credit card!!! Needless to say our order was canceled and we're going to go through pc direct once we calm down some from the other site.
LOL!!!! Sorry I had to laugh. I feel like I go through that everytime I call some sort of company. So the first thing I do is ask to speak with their supervisor. You can always understand the person in charge and usually you can get things done faster.
LMAO Sorry Dusty!! I used to have all those problems all the time when I called our cable company. I was talking to my father in law one day and he laughed and said "Next time just call me" He is head of fiber optices for our cable company and he knows it all when it comes to these modems. I'm so glad I don't have to call the help desk anymore.
