My Gimmaw =(

Okay so, My Gimmaw (Mom's mom) has been in the hospital for 3 weeks now, not doing well now...so before I go into a ramble, I will bullet everything so no one gets confused.

- k, My Uncle Duke, his wife, and Gimmaws brother and wife (Moms brother) have taken it upon themselves to get my Gimmaw to sign this paper saying certain people can't come see her, get things from her house for her, etc

- Why? His motivation is money. She has lots of it. He will eventually make it to where my Aunt Sue, Aunt Debbie and my mom can't get a damn thing of Gimmaws after she dies. So, I bet he sits at her bedside wishing she'd die so he can get cash.

- Sue went to Gimmaw'a house yesterday to get her her mirror, tweezers, etc for her and the people at assisted living said she couldn't even come in the front door because of "power of attorney" ALL attorneys in Kentucky can kiss my (insert any dirty word here)! lmao.

- So, what's next? Her funeral will be a 3 ring circus. Just watch, Duke will probably try and stop us from getting in to her visitation and funeral with fat cops at the door.

- I've been going off about it so I say "So, this means I have to wait to see her again at her own funeral??"

- I told mom Matt and I will go up there and see her and I talked to mom earlier today and she said "I don't want you in the middle of that, you're not used to them and won't be able to make them take a step back like I can"

- I want to go see her, bad, but now that I can't see her and mom doesn't want me to get caught in this battle, I have no choice but to sit and wait for that phone call that Gimmaw is gone. I've calmed down since first finding out because I know I'm powerless. Ninna died 8/30/02, Granny 3/23/04, and I do not need this again.

- Duke has terrorized her into this crap. He knows she's vulnerable because she's a sick old lady. Debbie and Sue have told her what she signed and she had no idea....he probably lied about the paper being some kind of release form or something...

-Gimmaw has never been afraid of anyone but some things have been happening to her to make her feel this way that we don't know about. She can call up a lawyer and change her mind on what she signed but Duke scares her.

- I hope, by some miracle, she gets better fast and fixes everything and everything will be fine. I guess I live in a fantasy world. Maybe he'll die, all of our problems will be solved.

Heff girl i've been in your shoes. I know how ya feel. My nana was really sick for years, she would go in and out of the hospital. The second time she was in my great grandmother (her mother) had her sign all these "forms" saying that they were release forms from the hospital. Well come to find out they were not, it was a living will. It left everything including my grandfather biz to her (my great grandmother). It was a HUGE mess. Well, some miracle she recovered that time and many others and everything was fixed. When she did pass a few years later my great grandmother went into her safe and stole all her jewlery, my great grandmother said she didn't know what happened to it. Well only 3 people had the comdo to the safe, my nana, grandfather and my great grandmother. All of the jewlery was left to me in her will, I was her only grandchild. Cause of my great grandmother I was out of everything she left me, she stole it all. I haven't spoke to that woman since 99, I refuse to have my son around her. If she wants to see him my mother has to lie to me to take him there. He will be 2 in Dec and she's only seen him twice, she only lives less than 5 mins away.

I normaly wouldn't tell someone to go against their mothers word, BUT this one time I will. I personally would go and see her, you have that right, just think how you would feel if you didn't take your first instint and go see her and she was to pass.

Oh man Heff, I am soooooooo sorry! I couldn't imagine! I hope you are able to see her, how terrible for you to have to go through. If anything, tell your uncle that you don't want anything, you just want to see her before she is gone and that he can be there if he wants to make sure of it, that you just want to see her. It's sad that it would come to that, but at least maybe you can see her. I will send my thoughts your way, I'm sorry

My mom and dad are supposed to go up there sometime, after 6:30pm on night when the 3 morons have cleared out. That's the only time I want to be around because I don't want to look at the morons.

My Aunt Sue took her some things the other day and my uncle was in the room right when my Aunt told her what they were doing to her and Sue said "for all I know, that could very well be the last time I ever see my mother".

I haven't seen my uncle since my cousins funeral in Aug 1997. I don't care to talk to him and don't care if he dies.

well heff. when money is involved, the seed of greed is planted. some people dont care about anything else except what they can get their hands on. sad but true. when i was very young, my great grandma lived accross the alley from us. she was a very religous woman. she held weekly bible studies for the neighborhood kids. we all looked forward to her stories, but mainly went for the treats she baked . she had a very old wooden face baby doll on the back of her couch. i was always admiring it but she never allowed me or anyone to play with it. she told me when she was gone, it would be mine as she knew how much i loved that doll. everyone knew it was to go to me. she made that very clear. when they put her in the nursing home she told my mother to make sure i got the doll . when they all met at her house to take care of her things, some of the shady relatives were already there and the doll was gone. i always wondered how anyone could keep something that they KNEW was meant for someone else .to me that was disrespecting me and my great grandmas wishes. it just goes to show how ruthless people can be when they think there is money involved or its something they can make a buck on. sooo very sad.

Dusty, I know what you mean. My family has this REALLY old antique baby buggie. I mean, this thing is made out of wicker with iron wheels and everything. I think it was made in the 1870's. Well, it has been the center of a lot of arguements between my grandmum and her sisters for years. They all claim it belongs to them (their father had gotten it for all of them when they were kids to put their dolls in) So it got put into the museum of the mining town that they all grew up in. I kind of thought that was the end of it until, at my wedding, I asked to borrow the buggy since we were having an 'antique' themed wedding and we wanted my son to be the ring barrer. We thought it would be cute to have him pushed down the isle in it. Everything was fine until after the wedding when my grandmum and her sisters all started fighting about it again. They thought my grandmum had gotten it and gave it to me. When in fact I had showed my birth documents and whatnot to the museum curator (she knew our family) and she was the one that 'loaned' it to me for the special occassion. And then my aunts and uncles got into it because they thought I was getting it and they didn't think that was fair for their kids. I was relieved to bring it back to the museum after all was said and done. I think if I ever was giving that thing, I would put it right back in the museum, it's an annoyance I wouldn't want to deal with, lol. People are weird about weird things sometimes....
