today was NOT a good day. on my second visit to the clinic, thursday, they did a culture and made an appt with another one of their clinics accross town as they are closed on saturdays.my appt is at 10:00 at the lakewood clinic. about a 45 minute drive from home. as i'm not sure where it is exactly, i leave home early and arrive at 9:45 .my appt is at 10:00 . 10:30 i'm still sitting there and theres only about 5 people in the waiting area. 11:00 comes and still there. in the meantime about 5 people came in and got right in. finally another lady comes over and ask me what time my appt was because hers was 9:00 and she seen all these others coming and getting right in and we were still waiting. well the antibiotics make me VERY sleepy and dizzy and CRABBY. so we both went to the desk and while the other lady was pleading her case and getting the brush off, i finally snapped.i started hollering. i said "AM I GOING TO FREAKIN CROAK IF I DONT GET SEEN TODAY ! it got real quiet but i wasnt done. so i said i am sick and i am tired and its going on noon , so now i am hungry. so if i will live until monday, i will just wait until i can go to my normal clinic where i can be seen in a normal amount of time and you guys can just sit here and scratch your freakin asses for ALL I CARE !. one of them caught me at the truck and said they were just getting ready to call me and would i please come back in . so they stick me in a room and leave me there for another half hour. finally i opened the door and hollered. i,m LOSING it and aboust to GO OFF ! i heard one of the girls tell another. you better get doctor winter in there QUICK ! lmao. the nurse comes in and takes my blood pressure, its 120 over 105 ! well duh. i was pissed off ! finally the doctor comes in and tells me the results of the culture.its cellulitis, caused by a bug bite, either a spider or misquito is what she said, and beings we have zero misquitos around here it is more than likely a spider. and now i have staff infection and stay on the antibiotics. all that for that. she was in and out in under 5 minutes. i treated myself to a quarter pouder with cheese at mcdonalds , came home and slept the rest of the day ! . the swelling is down to a very hard lump about 3inches long by 2 inches wide.but it has shrunk tremendously from what it was. i think i will live now. lol
I think most all of us at one time or another have gone thru what you did at the clinic. I hate it that the majority of drs offices that I have gone to feel that although their time is valuable (be 15 minutes late & you lose your appointment) your time is worth nothing & it's no problem to have you wait & wait & wait. Not only do you wait out in the waiting room but then you get stuck in a little room to continue your wait. What I do now with any dr. appointment is call before I leave to go there to see if they are running on time - they now will tell me if they are running late & know that I will adjust my arrival to coincide with their current schedule. It saves alot of frustration on my part & their having to deal with another irate patient - it's a win/win situation for both sides.
LOL, Oh Dusty. From over here that seems funny. But I know its not.
I want to forwarn you that that lump may very well once it ruptures become a nasty ugly sight. Just to let you know. Happened to m y friend. Keep up with the warm compresses

Wow Dusty, I'm sorry you had such a terrible day! You take care of yourself, get lots of rest (this is a good time to plead for 'maid service' from family members! Lol) I hope you are okay. I can't believe those doctors! That's where young kids come in handy. When I'm in a room too long, I stop making my kids behave and let them go nuts in the room, lol. That gets the doctors in there REAL quick!

OMG! That happens to me in clinics all the time..........lol I can blow up just like that. When you are sick and in pain, you just want to get seen and go home. What doesn't make sense is that since it only takes them around 5 minutes to see each person, why do we all have to wait so long? That's partly why i hate going to the Dr. I'm glad you are getting better though.
I actually had to giggle at your outburst because I have done the same thing. But I'm glad you finally know exactly whats wrong. Wishing you on a very quick recovery. Its no fun being sick and in pain.
