palmtree seeds

anyone know anything about those little seed type things that fall from palm trees? Are they toxic to dogs? Make them sick? or are the ok as long as not consumed in large amounts?

I have a plam and I always have thousands of those little seeds all over my yard. Winnie my lab eats them all the time, i make her stop when i see her, but there are so many and they fall so much i cant possibly keep cleaning them up. Anyways Winnie has never gotten sick from that, infact none of the other dogs have either but i dont see them do as often, hardly at all actually.

Well i dont know if you guys remember but Hydes been throwing up, after the vet visit and getting the anti vomit meds he was fine till this morning. After I let him outside he threw up foamy stuff, a couple blades of grass, and something red, definitly not blood, something he probley scavanged from the ground. So i didnt feed him breakfast, i was with him ALL day at work, we came home and i gave him his anti vomit med, 15 minutes later, i let him outside with the others, i brought him back in and he drank a bunch of water. Out of no where he starts heaving, and I put him on the floor and all of a sudden all this liquid shoots out like it would in a hose, I was freaking out! and there were all these little black balls everywhere! I slowly realized that it was the seeds from the palm tree, it made him throw up. But then i was thinking would those seeds make him sick so quickly? And maybe those things were making him sick earlier this week, but this is the first time ive seen the palm tree seeds in the vomit.

Whatta ya think?

Syd..i found this online:

http://www.gcvs.com/internists/sago.htm

Here is another site that says and shows adult trees. It also shows the seeds towards the bottom.
http://www.rhapisgardens.com/sagos/

If they are the same tree they are very toxic to dogs.

Well, it could be the root of a lot of your problems.
You have complained of various digestive problems for awhile.
