I got my server to switch me from dial-up to hi-speed! This is the first time I used it. It was supposed to come on line yesterday, but the light just kept flashing. I called the tech-support, he indicated that I would need to move a #100lb+ dog kennel, getting behind it, to get the modom next to the wall jack [we were 30 ft. away, in another room.] As I contemplated how I was gonna get the dog out [she is not an early riser] and how I was gonna get a cable 30ft. long on a day that I go to work... the thing stopped blinking and came on line, several hours past the due date.
Wooo Hooo!!!! Don't ya just love High Speed!!! It's the best! I had to resort to dial up for a few months and thought I was going to loose my mind! I was so damn happy to be back on high speed!!! You will Love It!
Nothing really. DSL runs threw phone lines while Highspeed runs threw cable lines. Some say that DSL is slower which I would have to agree. I personally do not like DSL.
We had DSL in Georgia and it was pretty fast. Ran it on a laptop too. Here in MD, running hi speed....crap, but not because of the internet but because of my retarded stupid P.O.S. Computer....Can you tell we aren't running on the laptop here?
I have just moved "off the grid" to Wittmann, Az. Basic phone service and any power not produced by a generator is fairly new. I feel fortunate for just having dial-up.
But I'm pretty much old school and pay $11 a month for my msn dial up and can't think of anything worth getting on the internet for any faster for more money.
Some of my "high speed" friends wonder how I can possible live without high speed.
DSL extreme.com is pretty fast as dial up, for $10. a month. They were at 48 kpbs. I guess I don't have high speed, cause it's not cable, it is dsl faster than dial up speed I love the difference...
