our local mall experienced a tragedy today. a man armed with an AK-47 assault rifle opened fire in the tacoma mall . he shot 6 people, one is in serious condition and held some hostages. they were interviewing a mother whos teenage daughter had been one of the hostages in the music store. i can only imagine what she was going through. i would have been a basket case if it had been my daughter in there. my sister and i had been there a couple of weeks ago. we were in the food court when a bunch of teens were running through the store shouting with the security chasing them. we were talking about how we didnt like going there anymore . well after today, its my last visit ! they showed the shooter. he looked like a young, clean-cut man. he was wearing a dress shirt and tie. i would have never pictured someone like that doing anything like that. it just goes to show that you cant judge a book by its cover.
I know what you mean. You can't trust anyone these days, seriously.
I can't imagine what the day after thanksgiving will be like... and Matt and I are going places really early. I will not leave his side...I really hate big crowds so I see myself shoving people out of my way to get out, ha!
How awful.... I don't trust anyone. I get off at 10 every night and I have a guy I work with walk me to my car.
The day after Thanksgiving I have to work from 2 to 11 and I plan on being super careful when I get off. But as y'all know I work at Walmart and it will be a mad house there.
I saw that on the news tonight, I didn't get to watch it all. When we were over visiting we actually were in that mall. It is scary when it hits close to home like that!
You guys all sound like savvy, intelligent folk. Teach others to be like you are. I taught self defense for a few years. You are the kinda folk I would have taken on tour...
wow this kid is really sick. heres one of the things he said:
In his message, Maldonado hinted at violent behavior, writing that "Today is the day that the world will know my anger" and "Today the world will feel my pain."
sick . that innocent people had to "feel HIS anger"
Thurday I think it was there was shooting at the high school I grad from. One student killed and three injured. That same day there were 2 huge accidents on a major bridge at the same time. Also, a stand off for hours three people shot in the front yard and when anyone went to help them he would try and shot them. I don't know the end of the stand off but last time I had heard any of it was at 12 noon and it had started at 2AM. That same night two house's down there was a fight between a father and his son and the father shot at his own son!!! That woke us up at 3AM dogs flipping out wanting to go outside and see what everything was all about. Remember this was all in the same day!!!!!!!
How sad. For all the families that lost one of theirs and also for what that poor angry kid has gone thru in his life to bring him to do that. I blame his parents or whomever was in his life. Him also. Something had to make him that way.
wow stormy. it sounds bad in your town too ! thank god we live out in the country. i hate going into tacoma anymore. they are building out here in graham. we have everything i need right around here. i went to the mall a couple of weeks ago with my sister and there was a fight going on inside the food court when we were there. i was glad to get outta there and back to nature.my sister lives out here too. about 5-10 minutes away. she said she prefers our quiet little town too ! lol
