Honestly for you hubby Hunter IF he can he should try a 250 2 stoke before deciding on a bike. A 125 2 stroke would be OK but being's he's tall and 190 LBS it would have to have mods and alot of suspension work. A stock bike comes set up for a 5'10 165LB rider. Depending on who you talk to YZ's (Yahama) are the best 250 2 strokes right now. Most people will tell you that but you have your die hards that prefer their color best ( Dirt bikes go by colors a lot of times Blue being YZ's Red being CR's (Honda) Green being KX (Kawsiski SP) Yellow being RM (Suszki SP) The color USUALLY tells you what kinda bike it is. But you can buy after market plastics of different colors a lot of CR riders will change from red to black YZ's riders sometimes change to yellow.)

For you i'd say a TTR-125L or a 80-85 IF you go for a 80-85 make sure you have front forks like the big bikes ( I can't remember the exact name's) The TTR is a 4 stroke and it is made more for a woman in power aspects. The 80's-85's you have to keep on the "pipe" to keep it on the "power band" I'm getting a 85, the TTR's aren't enough for me LOL

As for your son... I'd go for a 50 or 60. The 50 may be too small for him BUT they are great learner bikes. Being that young I would say go for a 4 stroke they are more sonsint on power and you don't have to stay on the "pipe" or on the "power band"

Your daughter is NOT to young!!! You can get her a PW50. They are made for young children and they also have training wheels, they have the throttle regulator where you adjust it and they can only go so fast no matter how hard they are on the throttle. My son's 2 and he has a PW50 that he rides. After they are good enough you can take off the training wheels.

One last thing, I can't say enough especially for the kids at the LEAST get helemts I know you know this.

Here are some pics to help ya out a little on what they all look like....

This is my son's PW50 Yamhama makes them

Size comparson the PW50 and a YZ250 (my hubbys bike)

This is a YZ85 they have big wheel and little wheel I'm getting the big wheel they get threw sugar sand easier then a little wheel.

This is a TTR-50E (for your son)

This is a PW80 just like the PW50 but bigger

Now that you have dirt bike over load i'll stop! LOL

BTW Can you tell we are a "blue" family?? LOL Everyone we ride with has YZ's BIL has a YZ250 SIL has a TTR I'm getting a YZ85 , hubbys got a YZ250, my son has a PW50, Timmy a guy we ride with has a YZ250 and Joe another guy we ride with just fell for blue had has a YZ250 now.

Lol....'dirt bike overload' I cheated and just printed this page so that I could just bring in all that info to Fay Meyers (the dirt bike shop where I live). Its funny, because in the pic of your son's bike, it looks all huge. And then in the pic below it where it's next to the bigger one, I did one of those, "Oooo..okay, that looks right now" lol.

I'm sure hubby will know what all these are. Sounds like a foreign language to me, hehe.

Thanks for all your help!

LOL Thats why I put the second pic to show you how small they really are. I know the pic makes it out to look bigger then it really is. the YZ250 2 stroke is the biggest bike of all so is the YZF450 4 stroke. I would go into 2 stroke and 4 stroke but I think that would REALLY confuse you!!! LOL  Lets just keep it "kinda" simple a 125 2 stroke and a 250 4 stroke are in the same class engine size ( the 125 250 450 ect.. is the engine size) now the 250 2 stroke and thr 450 4 stroke are in the same class. In the supercross and motocross races te 125's and 250's (4stroke) race together and the 250's (2 stroke) and the 450's race together. OK SO I know your toally confused now! LOL If you'd like a better explnation PM me and I'll give you one it's pretty long.
