This passed weekend they won nationals at Hershey Park. In November they came in first place at the Soverign Bank competition. They are doing really well this year.

i clicked on the link and it went to a login page so i wasnt able to see the pics. but congrats to your daughter and her team for a job well done ! . i used to love going to the games at school when kayla was cheerleading. now she quit that and is on the crimson haze high school dance team. she loves it. they just took second out of twelve schools for a katrina fundraiser that they held.
Kaitlyn loves it and she's really very good. She doesn't even practice. I keep saying to her "if you practiced imagine what you could do." She can do all of her tumbling but only one at a time. If she practice she could be doing whole mat routines. I'm not pushing it though.
Her dad HATES it. He keeps trying to steer her toward other things. He hates the self image that is being portrayed. He doesn't want her growing up thinking that she has to be a certain way or look a certain way. He also hates her uniform. It is a belly shirt with a really short skirt. He would be okay with the skirt if the shirt didn't show her belly. He hates her in the competitions with everyone looking at her. Under any other circumstances she would NOT be allowed to dress that way but at the competitions there are no boys oggling her. Its just parents there to watch their kids perform. I understand his concern but at the same time cheerleading takes up so much of her time that if she sticks with it she's not going to have time to get in trouble and do things she shouldn't. She has practices 3 days a week for an hour and a half now. The older she gets the more practice she'll have. The seniors are there 5 days a week plus extra tumbling practice if they want to do it. I say leave her be. It will keep me from having to worry so much. Except for the fact that she's a flyer and I keep thinking she's going to be dropped and she'll break her neck but you know what I mean.

I used to love cheerleading. I remembwe I was the tallest and skinnest girl and the skirt that fit me was the shortest. LOL!!! I think I almost had butt hanging out. My mom hated the uniforms because of that.
But I think cheerleading was a very active thing. Some people would complain that cheerleaders had it made but they would have never made it through one of our practices. I got pretty good at tumbling but there is no way I could even get my body over now.
