LOL And my family said it couldn't be done! I hooked up the leash so that he could run a few feet out from the bike but could not cross over in front of it.
It was FUN! I have been wanting to do some major everyday exercising (my rear grows larger each minute) and boy does this exercise Manson, along with me! It is amazing how he keeps up with the bike, even down big hills. I swear no matter how fast I go, he just makes it look easy. It is way more exercise than I could ever give him walking or even jogging.
You guys should try it if you have a dog that walks really well on-leash (IE no pulling or running after squirrels).
I tried that once with Storm and have the scars to prove it. She did well for about 5 miles then all the sudden this on squirrel she decided to take off after. She had passed up every single animal before hand, I think he gave her a bad look or something. LOL
Sounds like fun. My friend used to skateboard with his dog. When I was a kid, I had a little sled team of 4 dogs, they had a blast. They would start screaming and jumping up and down when they saw the harness in my hand. They ran so fast, it would put tears in your eyes. I used to go get the groceries with them, or sometimes on the horse, if it was not a whole wagonload, and fit in saddle bags. I would put kids in the wagon and run along side the dogs. My lead dog could pull 2 adults weight with no effort, my dad and I had a real fast run, the first time we ran on snow. Dog got out of control though, and we had to bail, dog saw a tree he wanted to pee on down the road and was going way too fast to stop.
