syd overheated in bed lastnight

Sydney always sleeps under the covers, usually by my feet or legs and will stay there most if not the whole night. Lastnight I woke up cause i heard this weird noise. I then relized it was Syd, she was breathing really heavy, kind of like panting/gasping for air and it was real loud. When i touched her she was super hot, i figured it got to hot under the covers for her and she was over heating. I had to pull her out from under the covers and put her on top. It worked and she was fine a minute later, but it really worried me. And why wouldnt she leave from under the covers herself if she was sooo over heated like she seemed?I thought it was weird i had to pull her out, what if i didnt wake up, could she have over heated and gotten sick or died? I dont get why she didnt leave herself, i have never heard her make these sounds before and i first thought i might have to go to the ER b/c i didnt know what was happening.

Has this happened to anyone elses dogs?

Its never happened to trinity but maybe syd couldn't tell. So many animals and humans do so many different thing in there sleep that are odd or might worry someone but by the next morning (don't know about animals) they don't remember it happening.

That's scary! I too,  would think she would get out from under the covers before she got to that point. Maybe someone will have an answer. I don't.

They aren't that smart.
Lab board had a thread about a dog that was trying to get the crumbs from the bottom of a potato chip bag. The dog passed out and suffocated.

Wow, could she have been dreaming, I wonder? Woke up and did not realize where she was.

Yesterday, I finally trimmed up Lillys other leg to match her surgery leg.  She never sleeps under the covers, just likes to play then come out.  This morning she went under and slept an hour under there by my feet.  Now I am nervous.  I even slept so's there was a constant flow of air to her.  That baffles me how an animal can sleep there and not suffocate.  I mean I realize blankets do breath, I don't sleep under plastic.

P.D. is right about people doing things in their sleep and not knowing it in the morning.  My brother, he has sleep talked forever. If her drinks he has sleep yelling boats. His wife freaked out the first time it happened. But now its a given that it will happen.

My sisters daughter used to have Um, not sure what she called it, would scream like she is seeing something horrible and in the morning not remember anything.

Yeah its totally weird.
I guess she isnt as smart as i thought...lol.

I've been told I have screamed in my sleep before. I slept at a friends house one night and she said i woke up at 3 am, and started screaming "there out there!there coming to get us!there out there!!" she said i was screaming so loud her mom heard me upstairs, and i dont remeber a thing. weird how that works

Hopefully Syd is ok tonight, I'll make sure she keeps cool. Hopefully she has nice dreams too.
