Oh man Zoe, I'm sorry Your poor brother! I agree with Puttin, keep those positive thoughts in your head, maybe the karma will help a bit. Keep us updated, I hope everything works out for the best!

I am so sorry. I don't know what to say. I have read this post a million times and haven't known what to say. I just had to say something today. Send postive thoughts to your SIL and BIL. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm leaving in the morning to go to TN. My dogs are now sick. We just got home from the vet. I had to take all 7. They have some kind of infection in their eyes. Zoe's eye is the worst and swollen shut. I'm taking the dogs to my mother in law. I don't know when I'm coming home. I'll come home when all is well and clear with Amanda. They have now decided she has a rare blood disorder called TTP or thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. I don't know what is wrong with her. When I read up on TTP it doesn't seem right. I don't think the doctors know whats wrong either. I think they're just guessing and trying things. She's still on life support. She's stabilized. Nothing has gotten better or worse. My brother is still the same also. I talked to my aunt yesterday. She was at the hospital on Sunday night. My brother said he was aching all over. My aunt asked him if he wanted some tylenol and he told her no, he'd rather hurt. She said he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's just pacing around. He is even having a hard time going to see the baby. I think he resents him. He is sleeping with him at night but thats about it. The nuns have given my brother and Noah a room in the hospital. They are keeping Noah in the nursery during the day. My mom called while I was at the vet. I can't get a hold of her now. I'm getting a bit worried.

I just talked to my brother and he was sounding pretty good. He was fairly optimistic. I'm glad. I demanded he go home, or to mom and dads, and take a shower and eat. I told him I didn't want him to stink when I got there. I don't think he's had a shower since Friday. I also told him he had to eat. I don't think he's had anything to eat since Saturday. I told him he needs to keep his strength up for Noah and Amanda. I said, you're all they've got right now so you better get it together. I said, I've cried every tear I think I have and when I get down there tomorrow I'm going to kick your butt into gear and we're going to get something accomplished. I said we're going to get Amanda well and get her home with you and the baby. He said okay and he actually sounded happy. I know I'm just his sister but I think he's going to be glad to see me.

Now we really do just have to get Amanda well, get her kidneys working, and get her off child support. I can do that can't I? Poor Amanda. Gregory says when he tells her she's going to be okay she shakes her head no.

Zoe, I feel so horrible that this is happening to your family. You always think this always happens to someone else, never my family god forbid.

You go and give your brother strength. He will be very happy to see you.

Okay, now I'm in tears again. I'm so sorry your family is going through this. Your company will be good for your brother, and the better shape he's in, the more help he can be to her. I'm glad she's stablized. That's something.

Isn't your husband a doctor?
Why doesn't he go with you, and take a good look at her charts to see what the heck is up?
With your dad [or dad in law] being so well off, you should be able to get a specialists attention.
My mom's a nurse, she always catches screw ups when they are doctoring someone in the family. One time she caught them giving another patient's medicene to her mom. There were two Helens with the same last name there.

No my husband isn't a doctor. He owns a computer consulting company. I am, however, going to go down there and throw my money around and throw my father in laws name around to get people's attention. I will not be back until I get something accomplished. I'll see you guys soon. Wish me luck and keep us in your thoughts.
