I was just wondering what is the normal weight of an adult french bulldog? They really are just too stinkin cute... I love the ones I have seen at the dog parks.
the breed standard is 22-28 pounds. rocky is 22 pounds 6 oz. he is at the small side and is at about what he will stay. annie is 22 lbs 4 oz. she is also at her full weight. and puttin, there is nothing like them. they are the sweetest dogs i have ever known. comical, playful and extremely loving. rocky will get on my chest and push his face into mine and hold it there. some other members of my frenchie forum says theirs do the same thing. in the dog world, they are refered to as "little clowns" and it fits them well. we are on a waiting list for a female reverse (tiger) brindle from a breeder that comes highly reccomended. she has frenchies and bouvier des flanders. here is a recent pic of my two little clowns. and a couple of pics of the sire to the pup we will be getting. i will have to move a little closer to the edge of the bed before long, or make myself up a bed on the floor ! lol
Ya know, Lilly will push her face against mine and stay as to nuzzle with me. Its very cute when she does that. Who knows maybe she got it from me, I like to nibble her cheeks too. LOL
I did not know you wer looking for another Frenchie. How fun. It is just the funnest thing to have a few dogs that are all looking the same. I have been curious for awhile about frenchie size. Maybe the ones I saw were young. They looked maybe like 10-15 lbs.
How much longer do you have to wait on the female. Has there been one bred or born yet?
Lola is 1 year 2 months, and is probably 25 lbs. Pi on the other had (whom I got from the gal Dusty is waiting for her frenchie) is about 7 months old, I was told potty trained (at 4 months) and she wasn't close. BUT anyways, Pi is probably 15-20lbs. The two of them have so many differences its funny. Pi has the english bully looking tail, is longer in body than lola and doesnt yet have the muscle bound body. Lola has a longer "nub" and short and stocky with the muscle all up front.
i didnt know that you got Pi from chantal ! we were going to get a pup from her before we got annie, but the pup ended up with soft palate. it was not one of chantals pup, but her friends as she had no fawns at the time. she offered us a pup from her own litter or our deposit back. we didnt want to wait and she promptly refunded our deposit. we have kept in contact with her ever since and have even spoke to her on the phone a few times. very nice lady. i know we will get a nice pup from her. all she has now is two pied boys, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that there will be a tiger brindle girl in this litter.
Ivan is about 27 lbs, last time we weighed him he was 27.3. I wish i could get another frenchie. They are such a fun breed! Dusty, i totally envy you! I want a herd of frenchies and you will have them!
So these little ones are basically small looking but heavy on muscle. Reminds me of the little pit pup that bit my finger, he was solid and heavy feeling at 10 weeks.
