Any of you work from home or the like??

I was just wondering if anyone suggest anything. I work at my vet clinic 26 1/2 hours a week(3 days) and babysit Sarah the other 2 days, which is an extra $50 bucks....I just really want to save up alot faster and if anyone can suggest any sites or anything that will pay you for doing anything, I'd appreciate it.

I know there's sites that'll pay you for doing surveys, games, data entry, etc but I won't pay to do those unless I know they're for real or if anyone else here has actually tried it. :)

thanks :)

Work from home and get a real pay check?? LOL It's called being rich! I've tired and tired there't no such thing that pays anywhere near decent. Usually the games once are 1 cent per point and that's over a certian amount of points in a certain amount of time. In other words they are all BS.

there are people who do it, I was just wondering if there was a decent place that is actually legit. Like data entry or something.

Have you thought about selling stuff on ebay?? My friend does this(the one who has Cheyanne) and she makes quite a bit and she then turns around and buys her daughter alot of stuff.
I work from home right now doing photography. I am working on building my website(that is another thing you can do, if you have the programs......it pays well) I have actually got a few clients already.
I will be working in my own studio as soon as it is finished(Hubby and his brother are building it for me), well, I will be working in there as soon as Caitlyn starts school in September.

that's cool, Katz. Some people go through other companies and buy their products and sell it for more and make a big profit. I do have an e-bay account, I'm just getting used to it before I start selling stuff...but I do plan on it.

Seriously, people do work from home, it's not all a joke, it may pay just 300-500 a week but that's damned good for someone who doesn't have bills to pay yet....I just want to save up alot before I move out. The cost of living here is way better than many places, my boyfriend makes 10 an hour and lives alone, pays all of his bills on his own, etc. Thank God we don't live in California or something.

Heff, just be careful. There are SO many work at home scams out there. Usually if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Never take a job from home where you have to pay for anything. Even if it's just 10 bucks. If they ask money, it's a scam.

I work from home answering phones for a moving company, but it doesn't pay anything, lol. It's seriously our 'play money' because it's not much.

My mum works from home as an accountant, but the only reason she is able to work from home is because she worked for the company for a long time and was a good employee and was able to set up an office at home and do it because of the type of work it was. I have heard that usually that is how it is. Usually stay at home jobs are accouting, tax, medical billing type jobs that are mainly done on the computer. But it's hard to find a company that is willing to start you at home. They usually want you to work in an office for awhile first.

The paper route idea is actually pretty good money, lol. My husband and I both did it and the hours are short (3am to 6am) and we made 300 a week! But, the pay depends on the area. We had a huge rural route. Also with paper routes (here anyways) you have to pay your own gas, provide your own vehicle, and even buy your own supplies because you are considered a subcontractor. The bags that papers come in...my husband has to buy those! 50 bucks a month. Also, since you are a subcontractor, they don't take taxes out, so you have to keep track of that and figure out how much you will owe at tax time. It might not be like that in other states though. The only thing that really stinks about paper routes is that they are 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And in our case, if we had to take a day off, not only did we not get paid for it, but we had to pay someone else to do it for us, and we always had to find someone to do it for us before we could take the day off.

Oh yeah, I know the ones you have to pay for are scams....There's one site doing surveys and you don't have to pay anything...it's called "American Consumer Opinion" and I've seen a bunch of forums about it being good. This wouldn't be forever, just until I save up enough. I do get paid tomorrow(yay) but getting 6 dollars an hour isn't enough(I'm a vet assistant, and it's a really fun job so I don't mind), I am doing good at saving up, it'll just take longer without something else.

Yeah, I've already decided I couldn't stay at home all the time w/ kids, doing it with Sarah drives me crazy. I like being out and about. I can't sit on my crack all day w/ kids...no sir. ha

I know someone who works from home doing medical transcription. A lot of companies advertise this and are scams, though. My friend does it and gets a paycheck. I had her ask if they needed anyone else and she said that the boss said they don't have enough accounts for another employee right now.

I also know someone who works from home reviewing porn sites. He has to go through and make sure they are not breaking any rules, like there are certain body parts that cannot be touching (or at least not show the point at which they touch) on the sites. He also writes little blurbs about the pictures.

I work from home as a musician.  Its VERY hard.  The music comes natural but there is SO much competition.  I may sell one song a year for a hefty price and have to make the money last or I may sell 10 songs for a lesser price and it helps even out.  It is not a 'guaranteed' source of income.  You have to try to guess what the market needs at the time and hope they like what you offer.

Ansy did lots of eBay when she was in college.  She would go to auctions and yard sales and but stuff cheap and then resell it on eBay.  I remember one time she went to a yard sale and bought over 100 items of GAP baby clothing....for a baby girl......and I was like....um honey.....we have 2 boys...lol.  But she sold it all on eBay for anywhere from $3.00 to $20 each piece.  She made a couple hundred dollars on that and she paid less than $50 for all the clothes combined.

You can sell ANYTHING on eBay.  Her father owns a slaughterhouse and she also sold the animal skulls and hides.  My favorite was a goat skull she sold to a heavy metal band in Switzerland for $40!

As her weight would fluctuate or she ventured to a JC Penney shopping spree, she would also sell her own clothes (the ones in good condition of course) along with the kids clothes when they outgrew them.

When we get tired of video games we eBay them.  If you have a craft you are good at....try it on eBay.  You are exposing your item to millions of people at that point.  SOMEONE is gonna want it if the price is right.  Just look around your house.  I bet you have all kinds of itme to sell.  I had about 70 old magazines from the 1970's.  I listed each one separately and they sold from $3 to $6 each.  Not a gold mine but it was extra money.  I was never gonna look at the books again anyway (my father had stored them in the attic) and I seen it as money just laying around.

There are lots of pet related itmes on eBay as well.  You might could make dog/cat collars or something.  Buy them cheap (in bulk) then spruce them up with sequins and ribbon or something.  Anything to make them unique.

I know a girl who buys bulk (gallons) of lotion base on eBay along with scented oils.  She mixes the 2 together and sells the scented lotions on eBay.  She prints the labels on her home printer.

Good suggestions, Barney! Thanks! I think I will try looking around the house whenever I have the time....E-bay money would be fine, that'd be good to put it in a savings account.
