I'm potty training today.

I hate potty training.  Potty training a child is so much harder than house breaking a dog.  Kids give no signals.  They just stand there and pee.  At least you can watch for a dogs sniffing.
Kaitlyn was a breeze to potty train.  She was trained at 1 and a half.  Gillian is 2 and a half and still isn't potty trained.  I hate it.  It's not because I haven't tried either.  She pee'd in the floor once today and cried.  She's pee'd in the potty twice.  I'm hoping by the end of the week she'll be close to being done.  I don't want to buy any more diapers.  I hate buying diapers.  Such a waste of money.  I am rewarding her with stickers when she goes in the potty.  Stickers are her most favorite thing in the world.  She has sticker books upon sticker books.  She only gets stickers now when she goes in the potty.  Wish us luck!

Good luck....I hated potty training Kaitlyn. It was awful. She was 3 when she finally decided that peeing in her pants wasn't fun anymore. I did the sticker thing too...and when she was up to 20 stickers she would get a Happy Meal. Then if she got to 40 stickers she would get a toy or movie. Pretty soon she was using the restroom without any accidents.

Yep...not fun at all, BUT potty training a girl is WAY easier than a boy!  My daughter was effortless, my son was a nightmare!  Boys never seem to get the hang of actually hitting the WATER when they pee

My favorite potty training story:

When my son was 3 and I was DESPERATE to get him fully potty trained, I tried every bribe in the book.  Finally, we bought him the Fisher Price farm (he was and still is a total animal nut), and that incentive finally worked. During this same time, Devin was reading a book called "Where Babies Come From"....it gave all the details of fertilization, running the gamut from puppies, horses, chickens, and finally, humans.  They day Devin FINALLY got his farm, we were playing, and I said to him, "Devin, what does the rooster do?"  My three year old genius' response???   "THEY MAKE SPERM MOMMY!"

Have fun, good luck, and remember, it only SEEMS to last forever :)

We have been trying to get my son potty trained for a while now. He know's what to di just won't do it! He stands in front of the toliet with his pull up on and pee's but he won't pull it down. When I or hubby pull it down he won't pee, he waits for us topull up his pull up again! I tried not putting him in pull up's but that didn't work either, just made more mess!

Don't blame ya there. I hated potty training too. It was really difficult with my son because he has disabilities, so it was really hard for him to understand it all. He didn't get potty trained until like right at his 3rd birthday. And then my daughter, I have no excuses for her since she doesn't have any delays, and she wasn't potty trained until 2 1/2.

I remember when I was going through it, it was so frustrating because my mum and aunts would always come up with comments like, "You know..when you kids were that age, you were potty trained by the time you were 2" or "Back when you kids were young, kids were ALWAYS potty trained before they were 2". I think they were full of it or forgot when it *really* was, lol. Course, I'm just being bitter because it took me forever. I'm not a good potty trainer person =P

Stormy, Gillian is the same way.  She knows to go she just won't do it.  She will every now and again when she feels like it.  I just have to get her to do it all of the time.  I'll say, do you want to pee pee in the potty and she'll say, no I'm a baby today.  Errrgh!  It's so frustrating.  Or I'll say, do you want to pee pee in the potty and she'll say, yes, I'm a big girl today.  Well I've decided she's going to be a big girl every day now.  She wears panties and I carry around the Nature's Miracle.  This is what's going to happen until she gets it.

Lol Zoe! That's what I finally had to do too! I would buy them underwear that had their favorite cartoon character on it (Spiderman for Dylan, Disney Princess for Anna) and tell them not to pee on them, and just left them in those all the time with lots of Nature's Miracle on hand! Hehe. Do you have those plastic pant things that you put over the regular underwear? They sell them at Babies R Us and such. You put them over their pants so that when they do have an accident, it holds it in their pants instead of dripping down their legs. I actually think that makes it even more uncomfortable for them because all that pee is stuck right there, lol
