We are expected to get 2 to 4 inches of snow tonight.....possible even 6 inches (ok Northerners...quit snickering...lol). This is MAJOR for us......we haven't had snow like this in at least 10 years. The ice storm of 94 was the last time I can remember getting more than an inch. We actually have a "Heavy Snow Warning" out for most of Tennessee....lol. Good thing its Friday or the whole state would be shut down tomorrow!
The kids are excited, Ansy is crapping bricks, and the animals are swallowed in straw/hay. I pulled the typical snow panic this morning and rushed to the grocery store to get bread, milk, and plenty of snacks and foods full of fat...lol (she isn't cooking yet due to the surgery still).
Its supposed to start about 6PM and snow till around 7AM tomorrow morning. If I wake up and there is no snow....I'm gonna be PO'd...lol.
Tennessee is in a state of panic right now...lol.....you know how we are. Get ready to hear about us on the news and laugh because we can't handle ourselves in this MASSIVE snowfall amount...lol. For real though, this is ALOT for us. So many times in the past though we have had advisory's for about 2 inches and we didn't get anything. We live right on the line where its always iffy on whether its gonna be rain or snow.....just depends on how far the temps fall.
Will be sure to post pics if we do get the blizzard of '06...lol. Oh my God.....4 inches?????? I don't even know if I can walk in that without tripping!!!
Gotta go calm the kids down......this is more exciting thatm Christmas!!
i love the snow as long as i dont have to drive in it ! lol we got snow awhile back here. the flakes were the biggest i have ever seen in my life ! it stuck around for about a week and we all enjoyed our time playing in it. so enjoy it while you can and be careful not to pack any rocks in those snowballs ! lol
Since you are so looking forward to it, I hope you get the snowstorm!
In fact we are supposed to get one starting tomorrow nite & ending Sunday morning with a prediction of 12" plus. I'll gladly send that one your way too!
Many years ago I lived in NC for a couple of years and we used to be tough when snow (usually very low accumulations) would be forecast - everyone would be in a panic and schools & businesses would shut down before the 1st flake fell. When in fact the storm to us northerners, if in fact it materialized, would only be classified a dusting.
Batten down the hatches, mate. Sounds like a blast. Make sure the barn door can't open, or your critters will fly out like those chickens did... Enjoy all that junk food. Pity it's the weekend, or the kids could get time off from school.
You think TN is in a state of painc! Just think if that was to happen here in FL! I remember my first year living here there was snow! People didn't know what to do. There was a power shortage due to the fact that so many people had their heat on in the state, they had to transfer power from county to county here for awhile! We would go about 45 mins at a time with no power then 45 min with power. The people here thought that hell had froze over. Of course me just moving from Maine didn't think anything of it and was thinking they were fools! Now if that was to happen now I would be flipping right along with them. I've only seen snow on TV other than once in the last 20 years, that one time I saw it I wasn't very happy. I refused to go outside! I stayed inside the whole 3 weeks.
