Brad got me a digital camera...which everyone already knows about. And he took me out to dinner. And Kaitlyn got me a dozen hot pink roses.
I got Kaitlyn a new movie(Cinderella), a stuffed animal, some candy, and a cute outfit.
I got Brad a iPod nano, Saw2, and a new watch. All that includes his birthday gifts because its next Tuesday. I also got him tickets to a Disturbed concert...I have been wanting to go too. LOL!!!
how fun!!!! We went out to dinner with some friends for V-day. We decided not to get each other anything because we are going to have a weekend getaway this weekend and go gambling! So he paid for dinner and i made him some strawberry shortcake. it was a blast!
I got a cute little stuffed monkey and a box of choclate. I really wanted the choclate! mmmmm. That was all i asked for...hehe
Joseff got a box of choclate too.
I got creative this year and went to Michaels and bought a glass bottle with a cork, rafia strips, & plastic sea shell pieces. I Put sand from our garden in the bottom of the bottle and some sea shells i have from when i went to the ocean for the first time at 6 years old. Those i put on the sand in the bottle. I printed up a sea theamed picture and put a saying on it that said "like the waves of the ocean blue, our love is eternal, our love is true". (cheesy i know...hehe) I printed up the picture and burned the edges to make it look old and i rolled it up and tied a rafia bow around it. I put it in the bottle with the sand and sea shells, corked it and i glued the plastic shells on the side of the bottle. That was Brad's gift. It was a blast to make. I'm thinking of making more creative ones and selling them off my site. A neighbor and i have been doing bird houses too so maybe some of them as well. We'll see.
Oh yeah, and Brad made us chicken parmisan for dinner.
I got DJ a book he wanted. He wanted to wait until it came out in paperback because he hates hardcover but oh well! I had no idea what else to get him. I also got him some french mint candies.
We got the girls a bunch of candy. Candy isn't a usual occurence here so they were extremely excited. Gillian said it felt like Halloween.
Now for my gifts. First off I got a dozen chocolate covered strawberries. 6 milk chocolate and 6 white chocolate. I also got the most beautiful pair of 2 and a quarter carat black diamond earrings! I love them. They are gorgeous. I love diamonds anyway but the black ones are different from anything I've ever owned. They're also huge and look absolutely gorgeous in my ears. I'm wearing them now while I'm still in my pj's. I can't take them off!
This is not my earrings but they are almost identical. Maybe not quite as dark. Those also have major flaws that you can see. Mine are GIA certified and are flawless. I love them

My husband and I are weird because we have never really gotten into the whole gift thing on vday. We usually get each other a card. Sometimes candy is involved because we're both chocolate nuts, lol
For some reason, I'm not a big Thanksgiving or Vday fan. Thanksgiving bothers me because of the dynamics. The men hang out and watch football and the women are stuck cooking and then cleaning after its all done. Vday seems like an excuse for men to have to lavish women with expensive gifts so that they can get them in bed. Too much obligation involved, lol. I just don't think there should be a holiday for couple's to show they love each other. And I don't think it's fair that various commercials make men think they have to buy us stuff to show us they love us. I'm like the vday nazi huh? But...in defense of vday, it is really cute to see how thoughtful people are on that day and how much they want to do for their loved ones :)
We usually do the big gift thing on birthdays only. We're a strange couple =P

I got my new digi cam, a new printer, new riding boots, a pair of gold earings and 6 purple Tulips. I got hubby, a dirt bike mag and a cake. We had agreed not to go big this year cause we are trying to saves some money to move but hubby out smarted me this year. He left bad for forgetting last year and for forgetting our wedding anniversy (sp).
My birthday is the 26th, he knows my birthday is this month but he's not sure of what date! LOL He is SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad with dates, he's lucky if he remembers his own birthday!
I told hubby not to spend alot, so he got me Andrea Bocellis new c.d. and a box of chocolate cove bing cherrys yum.
Zoe how much does a 2.25ct pair of black diamonds run. I know I had the choice to get another diamond 2 years ago. For 1600, I could have gotten .75 ct or what I did get, a 1.72 ct light champange diamond. and had it set into a heafty 18 kt gold ring. That was an anniversary present.
puttin', I don't know what he paid for them. He bought them for me before Christmas at an on-line estate auction. He was going to give them to me for our anniversary but thats not until October and he couldn't wait that long. He sent them to GIA to be appraised and they came back with an appraisal at around 12,000. They are set in platinum (all I will wear, I know I know but I just won't settle for anything less) so I know that has something to do with it. Like I said though they are flawless. They are perfect in every way so that is one of the reasons the price is so high. Normally black diamonds aren't very expensive because they are usually extremely flawed.
My engagement is a 4 ct. diamond with a half carat of diamonds on either side. My engagement ring is 5 ct. total and it is also absolutely flawless, perfect in every way. It is appraised at over 300,000. It is also set in platinum. Just the diamond alone in the center is appraised around 225,000 I think so that shows the price difference in regular and black diamonds.

For Valentine's day & our 2 year anniversary (Tomorrow) my hubby & I bought each other a car so we don't have to stress about how to get to and from work and a house....we go to settlement on the 28th!
Matt and I didn't give or do anything for V-day. We think it's just all commercialized and it's a way for Hallmark, etc to make money. I don't need a day to remind me to be romantic and that I love Matt. Why should I be romantic because the TV tells me to? Our 4 year anniversary is in September, that's all we celebrate, besides the major holidays.
