Fez got attacked and my office manager sucks

what a week ive have had. I'll start with Fez's story.

I was home all morning yesterday, around 12 Jason and I were getting ready to go to lunch. Thats when Jason noticed blood all over the dining room table, then he saw Fez who had a big chunk of skin and fur missing on his side. We freaked out and I took him in right away to see the DR. On the way to the doctors he was acting really weird, not moving, just laying there, but alert at the sametime. Anyway we got to my work and they started shaving his side and there is a nickel sized area of no skin or fur and they start shaving some more around the area and he has long scratches and bumps all over the same side.We then notice some blood on the tail, so we start shaving the tail, and we found two of the nastiest looking puncture woulds on the underside of his tail. So poor Fez must have gotten attacked by something, we dont know what, all are cats get along great and they consider Fez the baby and they all take care of him.(he is almost a year old) Im also thinking if it was one of my cats i would have heard this attack happen cause i was home all morning. So we are stumped but i feel so bad for Fez. He has to be in a seperate room from the others, and he hates it, he wont stop crying. He was such a trooper through the whole thing and let us flush his wounds and give him shots with no fuss from him. I hope he gets better soon....

and now why my office manager sucks...

I bring Bear to work with me everytime. He gets to sit with us at the recption desk. He always greats everyone he sees very eagerly, he just loves people. So the other day while Bear and I are at work, my office manager finds this stuffed animal toy that plays a loud song when you squeeze it. So he squeezed the toy infront of Bear and Bear didnt like it at all. Well my office manager tormented Bear all day, I did all I could to get Bear away from him, but he thought it was funny. He kept squeezing that toy in Bears face and would laugh. Bear would go hide under my desk or between my legs. I even moved Bear in back hoping he wouldnt be harrased anymore but it didnt work. Bear got afraid of the office manager, so afraid, that if Bear heard him laughing from another room, he would run and hide. So needless to say im pissed, and I told the guy off, I told him he cant go near bear, and when i saw him in Bears casge earlier I pulled him out and locked him out of the room.

So I thought Bear would be ok after going home. The next day my cousins and my mom come to see Bear and Bear hid behind me the whole time! You could tell he was nervous around people now. Even my mom asked what was wrong with Bear, cause she has met him before this happened, and he was tottally differnt. Now I have to re socialize Bear and carry treats with me so strangers who approach can give him treats, hopefully it will help him. And he is never going back to my work agian. Im just so pissed.

To top it off the next day i was telling someone at work what the office manager did, and the office manager overheard and said Bear was stupid for being afraid of a little toy, I then told him he was stupid for picking on a defensless puppy and to get a life. I was sooo mad!

So that sums up my week, how was everyone elses?

People suck.
Keep getting people to give him treats.
Have you tried obedience classes at the local parks and recreation? Here by me, they are cheap [8 weeks for $34]. I do it for socialization.
You should start conditioning Bear to noise. Doubtless that jerk scared him with his attitude, it sounds as though he was aggressive to Bear, in addition to the toy. Get a loud squeek toy like that, and squeek it when you prep dinner and all around his eating time. You can't let fear like that fester. I immune dogs to gunfire that way. They get pans and clappers over their heads from the time they have their 1st solid meal. They get cap guns for dinner when they are bigger. Coddling and sympathizing with a fearful dog makes him worse. Best to turn his fear into his friend.
Lots of raccons and possums around CA, they have nowhere to go in the wild. Better check the yard for those. If Fez is small enough, a hawk may have taken him on, also.

Wow, and this guy works in a vets office. He obviuosly knows nothing about dogs. I hope he starts feeling like his condifence little self again.

And who knows what Fez ran in with. Maybe a dog or what Kitty said. Hope he heals up good and quick.
