Question about my moms cat...

My moms cat has started peeing on the bed. ONLY the bed, she still uses her litter box doesn't use the bathroom anywhere else except their bed.  She's 14 I think?? she's perfectly healthy no heath issues at all. Is it just attitude problem or what? My step dad has had it with her, my moms at her wits end and is about to put her down. She's been doing it for about a month or so now. My mom went back to work about 4 months ago and everything was fine then out of the blue she starts this. Anyone have any ideas??

Asha did this for a while when we brought a new cat in the house, we just started keeping our door shut(she would do it at night while we were IN the bed!) So we put her in the laundry room at night with the litterbox and food, etc. and she eventually overcame it. I am not sure at 14 if she will over come it. Have they had her checked for any type of urinary tract infections?

put a tarp on the bed. a big enough one to cover the whole bed. the cat will not like the texture of the tarp and if she does decide to still pee, it wont go through the hard plastic onto the bedding.
myself, crying or no crying, the cat would be 86'd from the room. period. cat urine reeks, its totally nasty. but if they insist on still allowing her access to the room, at least protect the bedding and bed from being ruined.

Use that in any area that has been soiled, after standard clean-up.
Completely restrict the beast from access to soiled areas.
I have a cuckoo old cat like that. She is one inch away from a cage with a litter box.
As you know, the alternate to put up, shut up, and caging, is death...
