A true update :)

Long time no REAL update! :)

Work has been great. I'm learning something new everyday I'm there. One of my favorite clients cat, Gramps(he's 9 years old, ha), was rushed into the vet Tuesday morning and he was dead on arrival. I was outside trying to get a french bulldog to pee in a tray when I saw the owner running into the clinic with Gramps in his arms. I knew it was it for him and it was terrible that he died. I'll miss him not coming to the clinic to spend the day with us. He was in heart failure for a long time and it finally got him.

I know I'll get more attached to other animals the more I see them but I think it's best not to get to emotionally attached. It'll just be harder each time one passes away. I definitely feel better about euthanasia these days as well. Too many come in sick and dying and for the most part, most owners will be able to let them go and when an owner just keeps on going, trying to prevent the inevitable, it makes me mad. I beg them to just die right there so the rest of us don't have to watch them suffer. I begged my own cat to die almost a year ago because I knew she was totally eaten up with lymphosarcoma and when she did, I was so relieved. We wouldn't have kept her around for that month had I knew what I know now about how peaceful and generous euthanasia is.

Sarah turned 15 months old April 19th. I can't believe how much she's grown and changed! Matt and I have been taking her on almost every other Saturday and keeping her for the afternoon/evening. She's always so happy to see the 2 of us and it's great. Her and Matt are good buddies and it'd be awesome to see him as a dad one day. Not anytime soon I'm sure, unless we have a "whoops" then it'd be a few more years.

Things with Matt and I have been great. Our 4 year anniversary is September 29th. I can't believe time has flown by so fast. I definitely know he's the one. We know each other better than anyone, we've seen each other at their worsts and bests and we're still going strong. I'd definitely love our wedding date to be Sept.29th. July 13th 2002 was a special day, it was the day everything between us started. He moved from here in 9th grade to Ashland and then to Morehead and that morning, I was the first person he talked to on AIM and he chose to come see me. He said he was possibly going to visit Annie Robards, Hayli, Megan Evans or Kelly Parrett but thank God he chose me or no telling how things would have turned out. It's funny when he tells me about how he had such a huge crush on me since 8th grade and thought I was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen (he thought I was so unique looking and still does, ha). He flirted an awful lot in 8th and 9th grade but I was on his mind the most and it's so weird to think about the way things were back then. What a story to tell our kids. :)
