Hi everyone! I am soooo sorry it has been so long since i have visited! I am a bad friend. A lot has happend though! We got a new kitty!!!! The same people that we got Princess Pussy Face from called me a few weeks ago. The lady told me that they had a 6 month old kitten that they were having trouble finding a home for because he has bad eyes. She said that if i wanted him we could have him and i could just groom her mothers dog a few times for her in return. So we went and got him! He is such a doll! He has the sweetest personality. Pussy Face is still getting use to him, but the dogs love him....he he follows them everywhere! He is super outgoing.
I will have to admit though, i am super angry with the breeders. I am begining to find them very irrisponsible! When we had got him he had never seen a vet in his life! He is practically blind! I took him in and his right eye never fully developed, so he has no sight in that eye. His left eye is fully developed, but right now he doesn't see much out of it either. With meds it will get a little better, but he will never have full sight in that eye either. Come to find out, this is a very common thing with this breeder. They are breeding cats that carry the Herpes virus (which i guess in cats affects there eyes). The vet told me that they see a lot of her cats in with the same problems, but they just keep pumping out kittens and selling them from anywhere $1000-$3000!
Here are some pictures of the new addition. His full name is The Grimly Reaper, Grim or Grimly for short!
I just cured a dog diagnosed with cataracts from age 4 months, she is 10 months. You may enjoy the eye drops that cured her. Breeding all aside, sometimes things screw up. I have not seen such a problem before, and of course, will not again use that stud. I am doing considerable studies to see where the problem came from. My strong suspicion is that there are eye abnormalities in the one bloodline. I have seen excessive tearing, and I believe that this cataract pup came from a insufficiency of tears, almost as though her brother got too many, and her too few. I need to study her further, but the conventional $2,000. removal operation was not necessary, due to the $100. eye drops. I am in an excited dialog with the opthomologist on this point, he is calling it a miracle.
How sad that they don't care. You will care for him very well though.
I saw on animal cops, a lady had lots of cats, and she was feeding them anything but meat. Some were going blind because of lack of taurine in their diet. Wonder if there is a corrolation there.
